Summer is a time when we need to take extra care of our skin. Especially, with the kind of summers we have in India, we could really use some beauty tips to stay away from all the things that come as a result of hot summers such as tan, damaged skin texture or hair issues.
Exposure to sun damages the skin. Hence, always make sure you are applying sunscreen lotion before you step out of your house. However, sometimes we end up with a bad suntan and tan is one of the most rigid things that summer gives us.
The good news is you can get rid of the tan with ingredients you find in your home.

Honey and Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice acts like a natural bleach and it is even more effective when you mix it with honey.
Mix up lemon juice with honey and apply on the affected area. Leave that on for half an hour and rinse it off with cold water. In another version, add some sugar to the mixture for exfoliation of your skin.
Tomato pulp and yogurt:
Tomato helps brighten up the skin and yogurt has lactic acid which helps soften the skin.
Take the pulp of one medium size tomato and add 2 tablespoons of fresh yogurt to it. Apply this mixture on the tanned areas. Leave it one for about twenty minutes before you wash it.
Turmeric and Bengal gram flour:
Turmeric and Bengal gram flour are two classic Indian ingredients for all kinds of skin problems.
Take one cup of Bengal gram flour and add a tablespoon of turmeric powder. Add enough some milk or water to powder mixture till it gets into a smooth paste. Now apply this paste to your affected areas. Let the mixture dry up. Scrub the pack and then wash it off with cold water.
Pineapple pulp and Honey:
Vitamins A, C and many other antioxidants are present in pineapples which are great for skin. Also, it an enzyme called Bromelain which is very effective in fighting free radicals in the skin and decreasing inflammation.
Make a juice of 5 to 6 pineapple pieces and mix this juice with a teaspoon of honey. Apply this juice on all your tanned areas and rinse it after twenty minutes.
Buttermilk and Oatmeal:
We all know oatmeal is a great exfoliator which helps you cleanse your skin. Buttermilk on another hand has lactic acid which enhances skin tone and softens the skin.
Take two teaspoons of oatmeal and soak in a cup of water for five minutes. Add two to three teaspoons of fresh buttermilk and honey to these soaked oats. Massage this paste on to the tanned skin and leave it on for twenty minutes. Remove this after it dries up for a better and healthier skin.
